See Lady Antebellum’s Blissful Justin Timberlake Cover
Lady Antebellum are reunited and supposedly working on new music, but that hardly precludes them from covering artists’ material in concert. The award-winning country trio recently put their spin on Justin Timberlake’s summer-owning “Can’t Stop the Feeling” from the Trolls soundtrack during their June 18th set at Buckeye Country Superfest in Columbus, Ohio.
Hillary Scott ends up handing the bulk of Timberlake’s higher vocals, with Kelley adding in lower harmonies while he works the crowd. With the group’s band trying to cover all the instrumental parts, it evokes the loose spirit of a jam band unwinding at a summer festival. During the breakdown, Kelley divides the crowd in two halves to sing the song’s call-and-response “Can’t stop the feeling” and “Just dance, dance, dance” parts.
As Lady Antebellum regroups to focus on new music for an upcoming album, member Hillary Scott — backed by her talented family — will release her gospel-tinged solo debut Love Remains on July 29th. Kelley’s solo album The Driver appeared in February, and Dave Haywood has busied himself by producing other artists like the trio Post Monroe.
